About
As children develop through their primary years, school leaders should continue to pay attention to their social and emotional development, and not only to their cognitive development, as measured in standardized assessments. In this course, school leaders will understand the dynamics required to promote a positive learning environment where children can be safe and make measurable progress in a healthy manner. They will also explore the importance of targetted learning and recreational spaces and reflectively evaluate the provision within their unique local contexts. Key Learning Objectives: - Understand the psychology of young children (Ages 5 to 11) - Explore the fundamentals of a school curriculum, including content for wellbeing and social responsibility - Understand home-school partnerships and effective stakeholder communication - Understand safer recruitment and staffing requirements for primary schools.
